The MING 19.05 was introduced in 2020 as the final chapter of MING’s original 19-series, a limited-edition timepiece that distilled design elements from the 19.01, 19.02 World Timer, and related models into an exceptionally exclusive package. Produced in just 15 pieces, the 19.05 represents MING’s early independent-watchmaking philosophy: unconventional design, high-end Swiss movements, and an emphasis on materials and finishing rather than traditional luxury-watch styling. Its 39mm Grade 5 titanium case measures just 10.9mm thick and combines polished and finely brushed surfaces with MING’s distinctive flared lugs and double-box sapphire construction.

The dial is perhaps the most distinctive element of the 19.05. It is constructed from solid sapphire crystal with an inky-black undercoat, creating the deep, almost floating appearance associated with MING’s early designs. Unlike previous 19-series watches, the 19.05 places its luminous elements directly into the sapphire dial, with arcs cut into the surface and filled with Super-LumiNova X1. Skeletonized hands and a luminous ring beneath the bezel add to the watch’s futuristic appearance, while the otherwise minimalist dial maintains the clean, restrained character that became a hallmark of MING. The watch is paired with both a Grade 5 titanium Universal Bracelet and a Jean Rousseau Paris leather strap.

Beneath the unusual exterior is a sophisticated Schwarz-Etienne for MING Cal. ASE200.1 automatic movement, configured specifically for the 19.05 with a bidirectional tungsten micro-rotor. The movement features partially skeletonized bridges finished in matte-blasted 5N rose gold and hand-polished anglage, while its approximately 72-hour power reserve provides excellent practicality. The movement is adjusted in five positions, reflecting MING’s attention to performance as well as aesthetics. Originally priced at CHF 9,950, the 19.05 was delivered beginning in 2021 and is now discontinued, with MING confirming that it will not be produced again. As the final 19-series model and one of only 15 examples made, the 19.05 stands as an important and highly collectible piece from MING’s formative years in independent watchmaking.
